In 1998, The Reef-World Foundation launched Reef Check in Thailand in partnership with the PMBC.

We ran the first training course late in 1998 and during 1999 encouraged dive operators throughout Thailand to become involved in gathering Reef Check data.

We set up a network of dive operators in 3 regions across Thailand – Gulf of Siam (North), Gulf of Siam (South including Koh Samui & Koh Tao) and the Andaman Sea. We worked with over 30 dive operators and collected data all over Thailand. This activity culminated in activities around Dive into Earth Day 2000.
