OUR PHILOSOPHY
Our philosophy is to provide well-researched and targeted training and assistance where those we help can then take their knowledge into their community or industry and pass it on.

Scuba diving attracts thousands of people from all over the world and the industry itself employs a vast amount of people from local communities. By targeting the diving industry to spread our messages, Reef-World believes we will effectively help to protect our marine life.
Diving tourism has grown around the most unique, diverse and dynamic coral reefs of SE Asia. Diving brings people unnaturally into fragile environments and there are consequences. Few coral reefs in the region remain unaffected by human activities. Efforts to effectively mitigate these risks will subsequently act to conserve coral reefs of important global biodiversity.

OUR NEW TEAM There are now three permanent members of staff in the Reef-World Foundation – Anne Miller, Chloe Hunt and James (JJ) Harvey – Anne is the founder of the Foundation. Chloe and JJ met Anne while volunteering for the Green Fins Project in Thailand. The Reef World Foundation began to support their work in 2008 and this working relationship has since grown from strength to strength with Chloe and JJ using advice from Anne plus their own initiative to carry out work as the Green Fins Regional Team in SE Asia. THANKS TO OUR FRIENDS! Several volunteers have also assisted us over the years and in some cases, continue to do so. Without these friends, our work would not be possible and we would like to thank everyone who has worked with us and provided your kind support and knowledge. The Reef-World Foundation is overseen by a Board of Trustees.

We work with numerous friends, groups, volunteers, industry professionals, government officers, NGO staff, fishing families to achieve both their goals and the Reef-World mission.
The REEF-WORLD’s success lies in its team’s blend of over 20 years experience working with the diving industry, backgrounds in Management and Marine Biology expertise.

We have chosen to remain a lean organisation without office administrative overheads. We prefer to remain a relatively small organisation that can respond quickly and efficiently to changing needs of the communities and industries we service to achieve great results.
